Ed, Didn't see the first half so I can't comment. In that case the argument still holds even though the two "decisions" evened out. How can we expect one official to keep an eye on 22 guys who in many cases seem to be intent on cheating the system to obtain an unfair advantage. The problem is epidemic here in the English Premier league and I think that video must eventually make an appearance especially as cost is no longer the issue.
Also, what impression does this cheating and constant arguing with the officials send down to our children. Maybe they should bring in a rule "no arguing with the ref" which if it was broken resulted in an instant free kick to the opposition and for further arguing the free kick would be advanced a further 10 yards until, if it was in the penalty area a penalty would be given. Also you guys our there in the middle would at least get a little more respect for a job that is not easy or respected highly enough. Odd that the straight red given to Italy in the first half, which was also clearly a bad call on video review, is forgotten. Italy's entire game plan was ruined as a result. If you recall, they had several strong chances before that that barely missed; after the card, they couldn't mount any sort of effective counter. Had that card not been given, it is quite probably that that last- second PK would not have mattered. If you're going to review some decisions that affect the outcome, it's going to be hard to justify not reviewing others. -- Ed Leafe -- http://leafe.com -- http://dabodev.com [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
