In "The Hunt for the Red October" Clancy tells about a US fighter
being cowardly fired from behind... (the part where F-14s zoom by some
soviet fighters just to scare them but then a coward russian pilot
fire for real in anger)... hollywood stuf... LOL

I read some Clancy's non-fiction (the books about Submarines, Fighter
Squadrons, Armored Cav), lots of interesting info on military
subjects, but the kind of info good for the general public, like scale
modelers, simulation gamers, curious etc. To consider those books
"expert material" is eggregious.

Come on Bob , personally i don't communicate with flier boys but
those books are full of inaccuracies.
In the one i've read during vacation fe - forgot the title already
<s>- he talks about encryption and it was the usual story : NSA can
break all codes and all codes are dev. in the US. Both statements are
wrong oc.
The latest AES encryption algorithm was dev. over here..
