I don't feel desperate. I feel empowered. If I like a technology, a screencast is a great way to demonstrate that technology and get the word out. That's what I was trying to do.

Personally I think that showing users an interface they can take ownership
of is worthy of showing. Users and the Command window never were really a
good mix.  IMHO

I'm hoping that more and more Fox developers will screencast. Heck, I hope more geeks screencast. I'd like to see more screencasts on Dabo (Thanks Ed and Paul for the ones that you have already published!), MySQL, SQLServer, Ubuntu, PostgreSQL, Perl, Python, PHP, REALbasic, and tons more.

The microphone cost $15, and CamStudio was free. After that it takes a couple of practice runs. I was going to re-do my "show" after I had that syntax error but I thought it was better with the error in it and showed what an error looked like and what it took to fix it.

Here are some screencasts that I'd like to see from the Fox world:

INTRODUCTION:
* Getting around the IDE
* How to create a database
* How to design a data bound form
* How to create a report
* How to export data in multiple formats in addition to reports
* How to build a menu
* How to build a toolbar
* How to do transactions and use buffering properly
* How to use SQL Server and call SPs
* How to use MySQL and call SPs
* How to use PostgreSQL and call SPs
* How to use Oracle and call SPs
* How to use VSS
* How to use Subversion

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT:
* How to build an simple application
* How to use a "starter" application
* How to build a N-tier application (http://foxforward.net/session.php?topic=3)

FRAMEWORKS
... there's so many good ones ...

WEB FRAMEWORKS
* WWWC
* AFP
* Active VFP
* Heck, just VFP and COM on the web.

Some of these can be short, others will need to be much longer. Bottom line is that we can really help each other out, and help others to understand the strengths and weaknesses of VFP. We have the power to do so and now that I think about it, we always did.

STEPHEN GET OUT THERE AND SCREENCAST ABOUT FOXPRO!!! <bg> (We all know you love it.)
