The initial file that you uploaded is still in your hands so you could
place it somewhere else if need be, right?  From that point you just
replace the uri that was pointing to YouTube with the one pointing to
it's replacement.

That is just data in your database that fulfills the webpages request.

To cut to the chase I think you need to relay on as many different
resources who do specific tasks well and farm out their resources as
needed instead of doing it all on your own.  YouTube is one of those
resources that you can request a feed from and they will deliver.  You
were hosting on GoDaddy?  The reliability of GD now that it has been
purchased may be in question as the new owner is notorious for
dismantling everything it buys for secondary profit.
