I haven't been following the whole thread but I saw SyncBack and thought I 
would pipe in.  I have been using it for years and have recommended it to 
clients that want to control their own backups. The scheduling works great.
It works great for backups.  I mess up all the time and go to the backup and 
copy it back to my working directory and I am back working on it without 
skipping a beat.
