Everyplace I've worked, the money went to the
clueless. LOL

I've always said that if I had employees that I would
pay them based on a fixed percentage of what they
generated in business.  If I bill you at $100.00/hr, I
pay you $50.00 / hr.  However, I've seen that the most
successful companies are the ones that treat their
employees like crap.
