Why wouldn't a person prefer music over talk crap shows.. I do... I leave the tv running all day long. Usually its on the stock market, but the sound is never on unless I'm watching a movie.

My take was that his show used to be funnier, but maybe I've just missed the better moments. What I have noticed is that he and his staff, perhaps Bernard mostly, have been really vocal against that war. That much I didn't have to tune in every day to figure out. Knowing something about the media barons, and their role in ushering us into war, it came as no surprise at all when they plucked a morsel of an opportunity to get him off their pedestal. In the world of money and power, one does not bite the hand that feeds. Imus got away with it because he was making money for them, but when power and money collide, power wins. Whether you like Imus and staff or not, one thing you'd likely agree about is that he spoke freely, seemingly without restraint. That he and staff gravitated towards an anti-war position wasn't their fault. That disaster wasn't their doing or undoing, they were just reading writing on the wall. Am I allowed to say that they called a spade a spade? So, big fan or not, now the TV is even emptier then it was before. Already I can see that when I'm up in the early morning hours, putting his show on is no longer an option, so it's music instead. Not terrible, but I definitely feel a sense of emptiness. Maybe it's not over, though. Imus and his staff have been through storms before and may not take this laying down. They might switch to another channel (?). I really hope they don't switch to subscription radio. Maybe - hopefully - they could do something creative with the Internet.
