I indicate in the previous post that I would probably go with DirecTV or satellited dish for input to my HDTV monitor, but I have now taken a look at using antennas. If I go with an antennas, the reception would be free once the antenna is purchased, or I could use my existing antenna. Also, antennas delivers better quality picture and sound than either satellited dish or cable, so considering how little TV I watch, HDTV via antenna may be the way to go.
One disadvantage of going with an antenna is I would need to buy a HDTV or HDTV monitor with a built in tuner, which could add something like $75.00 to $150.00 to the cost the the HDTV, or I could by a tuner separate form the HDTV monitor. Anyway, with an HDTV monitor and a simple manual or remote switch box, I should be able to switch between the computer and antenna depending on whether I was working on the computer or wanted to watch the news on TV.
