Ted, Always used to be a fan of AVG until Version 8 and then found out that the size and CPU usage was becoming intrusive and slowing the machine down to a crawl. Since then I have installed Avast Personal edition that was just "transparent" and that is true praise and have upgraded from the home edition to the professional edition I was that impressed. At home I still use the Avast Home edition.
Here at work I still have AVG but it really does slow the 3.6Ghz twin core processor with 4Gb down noticeably.
