I had been doing that as well, using StandBy mode, but I didn't like the 
fact that A/V scheduled scans were not running, and certainly didn't 
want them running during my usage time, so hence my opting to let it on 
overnight.  I'm not sure how megajoules of energy I am wasting, although 
I doubt it's causing Kalifornistan's power woes (when they have woes).
