Broadcasting your SSID is not a security vulnerability, any more than
having house numbers on your house. If you lock down your network with
WPA2, then it doesn't matter if everyone knows your SSID. If you don't
lock down your network, it's easy enough to sniff the SSID even if it
is not broadcast. This is just one of those stupid myths.
