Hi Al,

I quite like the idea but I like my comforts (and my house) too much. At
least your camper buddies are not like our "travellers" here. A load of
thieves and low lives. Can you use satellite there? Does it cover the
country. I think prices have dropped a lot.
Al

We have "travellers" here too, but the sites I stayed at typically had good
amenities (e.g. on the water, the phone connection, other stuff) so they
were a cut above. But I have passed through some places in rural, poverty
stricken areas that are probably no better then you're thinking.

Yes, satellite was available even then, but pricey and tricky to setup for
2-way. I imagine WIFI coverage is increasingly available, so that's another
option, but I think most "higher end" sites have cable for TV and Internet
now.

Re the camper: it's a great lifestyle and I think perfectly amenable to
programming and writing. For myself, there was nothing like being parked
right on the beach and working with the sounds of the ocean right outside
the window, especially at night and, early morning. And camper-types are
generally the friendliest people, which is a big plus.
