Let me make sure I understand.

If I am running J6.02, when I use Pacman to get stuff it will make sure 
I don't get anything that requires a version later than 6.02.

If I modify/add programs in Addons, they will be available in either 
J602 or J701 unless I do something special to mark them as tied to a 
specific release.

That works for me.
