You more often have this confusion in explicit verbs with NBs

like this in J

verb=. verb define
l o n g line       1 NB. description bla bla bla
l o n g line   2                           NB. description bla bla bla bla
bla
l o n g line  3            NB. description bla bla bla bla bla bla
)

wrap in e-mail

verb=. verb define
l o n g line       1 NB. description
bla bla bla
l o n g line   2                           N
B. description bla bla bla bla bla
l o n g line  3            NB. descrip
tion bla bla bla bla bla bla
)

And can then not be copied easily from the e-mail to J
