Hi,
I recently had the same discussion QGIS! I ended googling for a conference
with the original creator of the project to settle the discussion. He uses 2
different pronunciation in the same conference. I suggest you do the same.

As an almost perfectly bilingual person living in Canada (French but grew up in
an anglophone community) I use our “project” pronunciation with an “o” as in
‘The car was towed.’ I can imagine some people pronounce the o as an “aw” or
broad ‘o’ as in ‘I dodged a bullet!”

Using « Sally English American » Copy ˈprodʒ to hear what I say.

Tomato Tomato!!! :)
