I would strongly suggest to change one thing at a time.

I personally don't have the best experience with svn, I actually found cvs to be more robust, and much more appropriate for my needs.
I just like cvs graphs, and real branches [1],

Anyway, when moving to a new server, things will break, and it will be important to know that they're not breaking due to infrastructure changes.

Note, I'd really favour you to offer svn as an option, not as an replacement to svn.

[1] svn does not have branches, I came to conclude after months of thinking about my problems with svn. Shallow copies are not branches, even if svn uses the term branches to explain shallow copies.
