I got a boxed version and it came with an iLok but it didn't have a license preloaded. I had to do the registration thing and it was then deposited to my iLok account.

All I did was have someone help me register such as entering in the serial numbers but I had voiceover on the entire time so did all of the rest of the steps. I did not know that pro tools 10 could be bought just as a download plus I like to have the DVD's on hand if I should need to reinstall it later. Should I not have bought the boxed version? Usually, the license is deposited into your iLok account after you've created the account. In fact, the registration process asks you for your iLok user name.
