When i bought a box version of ProTools 9 it came pre loaded with the license 
on teh iLok. When I upgraded to version 10 then i had to  log into my iLok 
account and retrieve the license and transfer it to my iLok. But this was 
mostlikely to me getting the download version of the upgrade.
