One final thing: there are many more apps for around 69 pense that do similar things that I haven't tried yet. I think there is one that just does scratching. This might be better for us because the screen might be less cluttered and so perhaps it would make it more accessible.
I know this isn't ProTools related, but someone did ask about scratching and if we were sighted ProTools users then perhaps we wouldn't need to look for alternatives like this.
