Hi John, Well, I'm pretty sure that, at the very least, the Edit window should probably be open but, beyond that, it should work fine.
I'm not sure if there's a conflict with other keystrokes that would affect the tool selector. I think that, with any tool selected, the normal keyboard commands will work since you're not using physical mouse clicks. Those keyboard shortcuts are global. You might want to look at the Pro Tools Shortcuts pdf to check the shortcuts for tool selection. I don't remember what they are since it's never been an issue.
