Hey Chuck, this is Nate/Poppa, , that is the clerification that I was looking
for. To go one step further, the , Shuffle, slip, or grid should theoreticly
work the same with audio as it does with midi? Also, in Johns case, not being
able to get the midi clip to shuffle/slide over the cleared section it was more
than likely because grid and shuffle were both selected? Is that the likeliest
problem?
Hope I made that clear as mud.

  Hi John,
You can use your f keys 1 2 3 or 4 to select edit modes.

Also when holding down shift and then hitting your f keys you can select both
grid and slip or shuffle.
This is a fast way to combine edit modes! :)
This is what probably happened to you the other day.
If grid gets stuck in a selected state, use your mouse and command click on
it and select the other grid mode this should clear the selection.
If that don't work try selecting the Zoomer tool then repeat the other
steps.
This was rather quirky but its all doable!
  YMMV

I think the difference here is Nate is using audio and I'm using MIDI.

And to Chuck, my friend who he and I are working on a project mentioned
using shift you can deselect so any commands you find Chuck go for it. smile.

This is Nate/Poppa, John and I worked on the phone yesterday and what is
happening is that even though shuffle is selected, either absolute grit or
relative grid mode will also stay selected at the same time. In my PT 8 when I
select shuffle, grid mode or any other mode will become unselected.

      Sklau,

I might have not explained very well. Even though I hit F1 for shuffle
F4 meaining grid mode is also selected even after hitting F1 for shuffle mode.

I only notice this behavior when using virtual instruments. Audio
sessions work as expected.

        Hi John,

The edit modes are independent of track type. Use the f1 through f4
keys to switch between modes. F1 is Shuffle, F2 is Slip, f3 is Spot and f4 is
grid. If I got the last two reversed, it's only a testament to how infrequently
I've used spot and Grid modes. Let me know it that helps at all.

          Hello All,

Having 1 stereo instrument track if I try to cut and having slip
selected it is like selected spot ETC.

I also noticed in the edit cluster grid is also selected. If I
VO-shit-m it toggles between absolute or relative grid. However if I have an
audio session I don't have the above behavior.

I suspect because virtual instruments are MIDI but if any one has a
suggestion I'd appreciate it.

          John
