  I literally have identically the same exact system, and identically the same 
exact specs you mention here with only one exception.  I'm using a mid 2012 
mini, not a mid 2011.  This however said, I find that the quality is absolutely 
gorgeous!  I don't think you'll have any issues at all.  I'm using an I5, 8 GB 
ram, and the internal stocked 500GB hard drive with Mavericks 10.9.5.

    I am thinking about picking up a 2011 Mack mini with a 500 GB drive, I5, 
and 8 Gb ram to use as a backup recording daw. Is anyone using this kind of set 
up right now? I had a friend who used it with PT 8 successfully but he wasn’t 
into using busses, sends and a lot of plug ins. I would upgrade to a one TB 
7200 drive and probably the same for an external. .
