But don’t I need to be running el capitan to run pro tools 12? I really liked maverick the best, but I would think yossemity would be as far back as you could go. Gord

If there is an issue that you need the newer update I understand but it may be cheaper and I know there is no learning curve there. I use my Presonus studio live for my console. It will not support El Capitan as well. I just bought a control surface and mackie MCU pro may not support it as well. I have heard that it did run with El Capitan. I am not going to take that chance. But all those surface issues you mentioned could be solved by abandoning El Capitan. Back when I was running pt 10 with the older os’s mountain lion etc., I had it working great with my alesis master control audio interface/control surface. Now alesis is no longer supporting it with el capitan. I don’t think my m-audio project mix or the behringer bcf2000 will work either. Are we relegated to having to buy the Avid artist series surface? Would that be good enough or do we really need to spring for the s3.
