Hi Peter,

To get a detailed explanation of how the Import Audio dialog works, it’s best 
to read that section of the Pro Tools reference Guide. It explains everything 
pretty clearly. For now, however, what you’re doing is exactly right. If the 
Track radio button is selected, you should see a new track appear in the 
session. If you have selection chosen in the pop-up, I believe the clip should 
appear at the point shown in the Start field of the Edit window. Did you try 
tabbing in that track? By default, after importing, I’d imagine the clip would 
be selected in the timeline so the edit selection range should correspond to 
the new clip length. as a test, however, try pressing Return first (to get to 
the beginning of the timeline and then press Tab to jump to the beginning of 
the clip. As an alternative, you can try importing the clip to the session 
start instead. See if that works. If it does, You can simply select the clip, 
cut it and then paste it into the location you want in the timeline. Hope that
