Hi Slau,

Your scenario may have some bearing on the possible bug, but what I was trying
to achieve was importing files directly as new tracks, without putting them in
the clips list first. It seemed that in this type of session, it was necessary
to import at least one into the clips list before it would allow me to make
them into new tracks.

If you would like to try to duplicate this as per your other message, then
perhaps I need to get one of those example sessions to you for you to try out.
If you'd like me to do that - it would have to be over the weekend - then let
me know, and I'll DropBox one to you.

Best,

Peter

Subject: message to Peter regarding importing of files to tracks

Hi Peter,

I was stunned today when, after having imported numerous tracks to a mastering
session, one of the files I was importing wouldn’t create a new track. This is
the first time I’ve ever seen this behavior. However, I was able to eventually
fix the issue. The only thing that I had done differently between the initial
imports and the one that didn’t work was that I had done a search in the Clips
List for a specific file. The only thing displayed in the Clips List was my
search results. I set the Clips List to show all files and then I happen to
hide the Clips List. After that, importing to a new track worked as expected.
I’m wondering whether that might help. Let me know.
Slau
