The Uptown Services study of the MetroFi network in Portland showed
that more than 6 client devices, each individually trying to maximize
their throughput, caused a 50% drop in aggregate bandwidth.

That's using $3k (or whatever) a SkyPilot access point.  I assume that
was all in the 802.11g layer.
