Hi Tim - Files in the root directory have proved a problem with the PTR1 - one way round this is to create several folders with so many in each folder, so getting them off the root, and then the PTR1 will recognise the folders, and hopefully play the tracks. however, that said, I found that certain files that were mpeg1 layer 1 would not play, they had to be layer 3. Anyway, hope that's some kind of help.
