I had a turn-off problem the other day with something electronic, but it
didn't have batteries. In that case, I just flipped the power strip
switch, and when I turned it back on, the unit had stopped being insane and
started acting normally.
And I've had the same kind of trouble with my Victor readers sometimes when
they've been trying to play a disk that is not too good. They will get hung
up. Sometimes I was able to hold down the off-switch. Then i n a little
bit, the unit did turn off, and eventually ground to a halt. These also
have the battery pack.
I hope yours stopped before the entire battery was depleted. That's a long
time to listen to those tweedle-deedle-deedle-dee tones.
Eventually when power is off, my victors returned to their sane status. The
first time this happened, I figured I'd have to send it in for repair.
Was I ever glad when it righted itself.
Kindest regards, Penny
