When using Overwrite, and one wants to go back and record over a mistake, can one simply continue recording from that passage?
I like the fact that you can pause the recording and simply rewind a few phrases and quickly cut in and record over the mistake.
My readers are still confused about Punch-in versus Insert modes.
In a studio setting, we have been able to produce very professional recordings with no discernible clicks when correcting errors or adding to recordings.
Of course, using broadcast-quality microphones helps, too.
My only big cvomplaints about the Plextalk is its inability to allow for knowing and
determining time increments in a specific passage, rather than a complete title--and its
rather short battery life--a problem for a broadcast journalist in the field without the possibility of
plugging the unit into a power outlet. Other than those concerns, it's a great unit, and my
sighted colleagues appear to admire it.
