Well, I don't know, but when I tried it I was going directly to the COULD and it just 
stayed on track 5.  If you had 18 songs then you should have had 18 tracks.  You said 
you were going directly to the card.  When you do that you are inthe daisy mode and 
things work differently there.  For example when you stop the machine so that you can 
change the record and then put it on record again it doesn't automatically insert a 
new track like it does in the music mode so then you  you have to press the track 
button.  I was told when you are recording directly to the card you can by pass the 
daisy format and set your recording in the music mode, but I havn't tried it yet.  If 
you are going directly to the card you should be able to go in and set the tracks the 
way you want them.  You press the track button three times quickly if you want to 
change track settings.  Make sure you are at the begining of the song you want to 
change and then hit enter and there you have it.  If you had !
 18 songs and you only have 14 tracks Then you must have more than one song on one of
