Hi, Does the unit work on USB? I mean, does it appear as an external CDR drive? Do you get any speech when you press the volume keys - your orig. message was unclear. Have you tried disconnecting battery and then reconnecting it after a short period? It sounds like the firmware in the unit maybe damaged, at this point it is probably best to either see if anyone in RNIB can fix it or return it to Plextor for you.
