I hoped it would work for me. :-( Filetransfer never worked even

it :-(
mmm, you can't use proxy65 with pymsnt (they don't need each other).
Good to know. Do they disturb each other?
They shouldn't :)
proxy65 is a generic XEP-0065 implementation. You use it to transfer
files when you initiate the transfer.
pyMSNt has an internal XEP-0065 implementation that he uses when he
initiates the transfer.
In most client there's a 'Data Transfer Proxy' option where you enter
the proxy65 jid. (Psi has it under Misc, Gajim has it under
AdvancedConfigEditor)
I'm using Psi. I'm absolutely unsure in which format I have to
enter the proxy. I tried several different formats. Do I have to
enter the host name of the jabber server? And what for is the
option "Data Transfer Port" and "Data Transfer External Address"?
Data Transfer Proxy: the name (as in JID) of your proxy65 or similar
transport (use service discovery to find the name);
Data Transfer Port: Psi will also offer a direct connection to your
PC at this port. This alllows for example, really fast transfers over
local lan.
Data Transfer External Address: if you are behind NAT, you can use a
dyndns setup of your choice and place here the name you've given
yourself. Make sure your nat box is setup to forward you the Data
Transfer Port.
Best regards,
