Yury Selivanov added the comment: Anyways, if it's about macro vs non-macro, I can inline the macro by hand (which I think is an inferior approach here). But I'd like the final code to use my approach of using slots directly, instead of modifying longobject/floatobject to export lots of *internal* stuff.
