I am willing and motivated, but will need some guidance in the process and peer
review of the code. I am going on one week leave tomorrow (so will be only able
to communicate from a phone), but after my return I can put together a patch
(along the lines I outlined here) and with the help proceed.

how should I proceed in general, should I post it here again, or somewhere else?
