At the time I started using Gmane, it was more dependable than the news server available to me. It possible still is. Now, I follow other Python mailing lists that are not Usenet groups but which are mirrored on Gmane, so it is easier to have all my subscribed lists in one block on the sidebar. -- http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-list
