I've also been thinking about default sports and equipment when creating a record. One of the tricky things will be dealing with the case when a user sets the equipment for a record and then changes the sport. In this case, should the equipment automatically be set to the default for the sport? Perhaps the equipment should only be set to the default if it was not already set.
