Hi, Using the automatic tracing <http://docs.qgis.org/testing/en/docs/user_manual/working_with_vector/editing_geometry_attributes.html#automatic-tracing> option, you wouldn't need to visualize them. QGIS will snap to vertices as you move the mouse close to them.
