Miracle Systems made one that connected to the ROM port. I gave away one
recently!
There was a Falkenburg interface, but I have no experience of it. By
far the best and most reliable is Qubide. It can use any IDE disk drives
up to two), and you can format partitions to 256MB.
This needs an expanded QL (extra memory) and is usually used in
conjunction with a floppy disk/memory expansion - like Gold Card or
SuperGoldCard.
What added hardware do you have - just the memory expansion?
In *theory* you could connect Qubide and an expansion in series, and run
off the std QL. In practise though, it is best to assemble everything
in a PC case with a keyboard expansion (like superHermes) and backplane
to allow good connection of both Qubide and an expansion.
This is all probably impractical for you, especially as Qubide may be
hard to get. I would settle for floppy disks and a Gold or Super Gold
Card. This would require no modifications to the basic QL.
