Dilwyn, look at your startup folder in the Start Menu>Programs and remove the shortcut named Microsoft Office (points to the file: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE" -b -l") This is the Office Indexer that reads constantly the drives and probably causes the problem.
