This would also increase the chance of it being repeatable each year or two. Rather than a not-wintel show, how about the "Sinclair and Clone Show" or "Sinclair and Compatible Show" (like the ZX Microfairs). To cover QLs/Thors/Q40/Q60, ZX Spectrums, SAM Coupes, ZX81/80, Z88 etc. The speccy and Sam do not have (regular) shows in the UK. The Z88 is supported by W.N. Richardson and is seen as a portable compliment to the QL. The QL has a good selection of emulators for other Sinclair computers. A Sinclair show seems like a reasonable compromise, also it should not be too big to manage. That said, Oric users are looking for a venue for a show and there would only be a few of them. > As we are sort of 20 years into the QL's life, it might be possible to > plan a special event around this, unless of course it's already in > hand for the AGM or USA show! This sounds great, could the show be tied to a particular date? It could be around about Jan 20 or Feb 17 (which is Jan 20 plus 28 days), the first order and delivery dates of the first QLs.
