Hi Andrew,

good to hear! So you preferred the c code application over the java
application. I can't blame you ;)

Btw, mkgmap works similar if I recall correctly. It is able to create a
tdb from existing img.

Anyway, you could do me a great favor and add a few lines of howto in
the wiki:

"Help for handling maps" is the right place and I would reference from
the FAQ to the entry. That would be really nice.

Yeah, it is a hacker tool in the first place. Used for ripping maps from
pre-installed SD memory cards. But as a side effect you can cure many
data diseases in Garmin maps. It's a very powerful nice tool.
