Sorry folks - I sent my last message on this topic prematurely. What I
wanted to say was -- monitor 0 works as I expected and Oliver described -
activity on the keyboard will cause the data file to be read again,
applying any route updates. What I want to do is get qlandkartegt to apply
data updates to a .gpx file without having to do any keyboard activity.
I'm sending gps location information from my phone while out walking.
This is relayed to my PC which updates a .gpx file and I'd hoped by
linking the .gpx file to a specific file descriptor and using --monitor FD,
qlandkartegt would re-read it and the map would show the route being taken.
I have got the desired functionality by killing qlandkartegt when new data
arrives and re-running it with the updated .gpx file but it does seem
rather inelegant.
