Hi,

GPSBabel is a nice workaround, but I am quite happy it's not used by
QMapShack right now. In QLandkarte I had to tell users one time too much
to make sure to have GPSBabel installed.

And as we have such a nice flexible implementation for track point
extensions right now, it's much more interesting to have a native
support. Not sure if GPSBabel converts every extension to GPX. With a
native support we can ensure that every extension is read.

I discussed it with Ivo and we agreed on taking the way through Stony
Gulch writing our own code. After all Garmin produced worse formats than
FIT. So it's not that hard to do. But it will take some time.
