Hello -

Using QMS version 1.11.1 on Debian (LMDE) and have 2 views open with 2
different maps. Good.

What I want to do is place these views next to each other in the same
"window" so that I can compare 2 maps. Now they are only in separate
tabs. Is this setting/change possible?

With a new install I would suggest activating the grid as a default. I
could not find my map until I activated the grid and then moved the
view. Also, maybe you should include a "testgmapsupp.img" that users
can just click on to verify correct installation and guide them to set
up QMS as they like.

On Qlandkarte I remember a "menu" on the bottom that showed levels (-5
to 5), coord "go to", etc. This was very handy but seems to have
disappeared. Can I activate this?

Trying to ask these Q/support is very difficult to get set up. You
have to be really motivated to ask. And I do not know if this will
work!

Thanks, QMS is a great product!
