I don't personally have this problem with microsoft, not that I send
them much mail in general... But, I don't have it.

What DNS servers are you using? Are you using a BIND name server or are
you using a djbdns sort of server? The base result from BIND 9 is 477
bytes in size, which isn't over the "big dns problem," but I sincerely
have my doubts that this problem has anything to do with qmail-ldap (since
nothing is changed in the way remote addresses are looked up, AFAIK)
