Yes, but the envelope sender is obviously not choosen in a way that allows
remote deliveries. It's quite clear that it won't be accepted my most MTAs.

yes, 'course. 
Though there is a reasoning behind this change. further double bounce
deliveries that further bounce etc will cause big hassles.
