check these points first. - connectivity. Try "ping your_pop_server" - pop server. Try "telnet your_pop_server pop3" - authentication. in the telnet session above, type "USER your_name" and "PASS your_password". - type "list", "retr 1" and "quit". if all are ok, your pop server is fine.
