On ABC News some 1 1/2 month ago, it was re-claimed that hotmail still uses
freebsd in their farm since they couldnt migrate all of their servers: they
simply blow up when trying...
Its like the harddisks, once freebsd is installed, they simply go on strike
when someone tries to change that...

I don't know about Hotmail's MTA, but I know for sure that Hotmail
was
using FreeBSD for a long time before MS finally managed to migrate it
to W2K.
I also know for sure that GMX.NET uses qmail cause I sometimes see
their bounces and that's clearly qmail.
