I just downloaded the version 1 tarball from Bill's site, configured it,
compiled it, and installed it, all with zero error, warnings or problems.
To be perfectly honest, it looks like it's not linking against either the
right version of vpopmail's library, or it can't find it at all.  Can you
post the output of your config.status?  That might give us some ideas and
possibly get your problem fixed.
