Can we start over with this? I think it might be best.
Fresh install, new thread.

Now I have kernel-devel 2.6.18-128.16.el5 and the script did the job :-)

Funny is this:

Jun 30 14:25:49 mail yum: Installed: ncurses-devel-5.5-24.20060715.i386
Jun 30 14:25:50 mail yum: Installed: perl-Razor-Agent-2.84-1.el5.rf.i386
Jun 30 14:27:04 mail yum: Installed: ctags-5.6-1.1.i386
Jun 30 14:27:13 mail yum: Installed: kernel-devel-2.6.18-128.1.14.el5.i686

But for some reason kernel was "not there". Don't ask me how this
happened.
I assumed long ago that my Linux knowledge has been growing thanks to
qmail
:-)

Today, after think about the log I sent on first message I updated kernel
and kernel-devel.

Jul 6 16:43:06 mail ntpd[2406]: synchronized to 194.8.30.16, stratum 2
Jul 7 15:03:30 mail yum: Installed: kernel-2.6.18-128.1.16.el5.i686
Jul 7 15:08:59 mail yum: Installed: kernel-devel-2.6.18-128.1.16.el5.i686
Jul 7 15:09:38 mail shutdown[16090]: shutting down for system reboot
Jul 7 15:09:38 mail init: Switching to runlevel: 6

And this time packages were really installed and recognized by the script.
I don't think it would be something with install scripts or newmodel
script.
The problem was really in my system.
For those with doubts... Pay for the cd. It's worth every cent.

But I have more strange things happening :-)

That make me think that I should really rerun install from scratch...

When I run qtp-newmodel I get:

Installing ezmlm-toaster-0.53.324-1.3.6 in the sandbox ...
error: Failed dependencies:
        control-panel-toaster >= 0.2 is needed by
ezmlm-cgi-toaster-0.53.324-1.3.6.i686

I think I saw someone complaining about this...
I'll search and try to help myself out...

The script shouldn't have ended with the error that it did. It should have detected that you weren't current.

Can you describe what the state of your system was? Such as

Was kernel-devel installed at all? If so, which version(s)?
Which version(s) of the kernel were installed?
Which version of the kernel was running when the error occurred?
What did you do to fix it?

If there's a bug in the script we'd like to fix it. ;)

Should have checked... It would have been nice that the script would not end with an error...
The problem is that, as I understand, the script looks for files in paths
that (if the system is not up to date) do not exist...
Well that is "supposing" by the script isn't it? :-)

The script doesn't 'suppose' it's up to date. It should check via an
available package tool and update it if it's not. What actual kernel
release
package-name are you using?

I will answer my own question...
All would be good if instead of supposing I have all requisites up to
date,
I should have make myself sure of that.

After updating kernel and kernel-devel sandbox is building...

Lets see if it finishes with no errors...

Hi,

I paid and downloaded the cd with the most recent Centos “on-the-go”
install
of qmailtoaster.

All went well until I tried to update the server using qtp-menu and
newmodel
script

From /var/log/aufs-build.log I get this:

/bin/sh: line 0: test: -ge: unary operator expected
fs/aufs
make CONFIG_AUFS=m AUFS_EXTRA_CFLAGS="-I
/opt/qmailtoaster-plus/src/aufs/include -DCONFIG_AUFS_BRANCH_MAX_127
-DCONFIG_AUFS_RR_SQUASHFS -DCONFIG_AUFS_DEBUG -DCONFIG_AUFS_LOCAL
-DCONFIG_AUFS_SYSAUFS -DCONFIG_AUFS_MODULE -UCONFIG_AUFS
-DLKTRHidePrePath=\\\"/opt/qmailtoaster-plus/src/aufs/fs/aufs\\\"" -C
/lib/modules/2.6.18-128.1.6.el5/build
M=/opt/qmailtoaster-plus/src/aufs/fs/aufs modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.18-128.1.6.el5/build: No such file or
directory.
Stop.
make: *** [fs/aufs/aufs.ko] Error 2

Probably the easy way would be reinstall it all over…

Any hint? I’d appreciate that.
Thank you,

António Pedro Lima

Hey Jake,

If the newer packages really do contain the .arch in the name, this would really screw with dependencies, no? That appears to be the problem here.

What say you?
